  • Senior Reporter, Early Childhood and K-12: Report on trends in early childhood and K-12 education, with a particular focus on inequities, challenges and solutions in the child care industry; trauma and mental health among students and teachers in K-12 schools; and the impact of the pandemic on children of all ages. Regularly speak on or moderate panels. Produce a combination of in-depth, feature and explanatory pieces. (March 2021 to present)

  • Staff Reporter: Reported and wrote about the future of learning in early childhood and K-12 education. Regularly traveled to child care programs and schools across the country, interviewing and photographing subjects for feature articles. Recorded and produced episodes for the EdSurge podcast. Stories focused on workforce issues, mental health, trauma and inclusive school models. Co-published an investigation into child abuse with WIRED and was later named a 2020 Livingston Award finalist for it. (Sept. 2018 to March 2021)

  • Politics Intern: Pitched and wrote stories daily, including coverage of breaking news, policy issues and national, state and local campaigns for immediate publication online during the 2016 general election.   • Metro Desk Intern: Pitched, reported and wrote breaking news, features and enterprise stories, accumulating more than 60 clips in 16 weeks.   • Managing Editor: Collaborated with staff on story ideas and deadlines; edited all content before publication; wrote in-depth and breaking news stories, including infractions in the Greek system and a secret presidential search.
